So we had a little bird's nest that we found right outside in our front yard tree. For a few days we watched the birds make the nest, going back and forth with twigs, etc..
Then came those cute little blue eggs in the nest. The kids were all excited that we had birds coming soon and thought the eggs were pretty cool.
Then the eggs hatched and Doug saw the birds but forgot to tell me and the boys about it.
The next day, Dallin comes in all frantic and says the birds nest was attacked! He and his friends were all outside looking at what happened. So I went out there and found the nest torn up and two of the birds stuck in the tree. One of the birds was dead and the other was alive.
I took the one that was alive and put it in a bowl with a towel, gave it some water and put it next to a lamp to stay warm. He would open and shut his little beak and drink little droplets of water. I wasn't sure what to do next, but the little guy died about 20 min. later. I don't think it had much of a chance at living anyway, but we tried! All the neighbor kids were sad so they made a grave for him (and his brother), and buried them outside. So that is our bird adventure story. Awwww, poor birdie. He was a cute little guy.
